For those of you that still check this place, I want to let you know that I made it out in one peace and I'm better than ever. I'm excited to continue this project as soon as I get my computer (probably a new one). Pirata and its creator are back and ready to hit the ground sprinting.

Im leaving on november 9th. All the previous info is still the same, i'll be back in 2 months, sorry about this. Wish me luck.

My recruiter for the Air Force mixed up my papers with someone else, apparently i have a lot more time before i have to leave. I am saving up for a new motherboard and once i have it i will continue work on Pirata. I've been working on the mapping still since i can map it from any computer anyways, so its not like nothing will be getting done.'

Two months ago i enlisted in the air force. I was supposed to be shipped out in January to basic training but apparently uncle sam needs me next week... I made the top of my preferred job list and i am going to serve as bomb squad (E.O.D), youtube search "Airforce EOD" to find out just how exciting that really is. Not only does this affect pirata, it has affected my personal life in many ways and i will miss so many people and so many things. However, this is both good and bad for pirata. After basic training i will be sent to Florida for tech school to be trained about every weapon...

I left my computer running too long and i fear a possible problem with the motherboard. I foolishly did not back up the game onto any other computers so i have two options; restart from a much older version, or get the money for a new mother board... Progress is at a halt at the moment but i am dedicated to continuing this project. I will let you know my decision soon enough.

The next version will have maps that are seamlessly strung together instead of a bunch of maps linked to eachother. What im doing is what is called "Parallaxing" the map is consisted of one big background picture that i create instead of millions of tiles that have to be loaded individually. So instead of loading millions of tiles, im just loading one big file which makes the game many, many times faster.

So not only is there no load time between maps, you'll be seeing virtually no client-sided lag, which is awesome.

Alright so all the shops and houses in the village are done, now im working on the forest up north where the Mayors house is. Next up is deep in the forest. Once i complete the forest north of the town i will work on the first dungeon which is located south of town. At the moment there is a machete you can buy in town for 1000 gold so you can chop down bushes by clicking on them. I'm pretty happy with what i have so far done in Pirata.

My sister's been down from San Diego so I've been spending time with her, my gf, friends, and pirata here and there. I've created most of the interiors for the village i have yet to fill them with all the villagers, i still have to put names to all the people you will soon come to know and love, and quest the hell out of. I've also still been tightening everything up so it fits together perfectly, like working on the classes (which i hadn't previously bothered to worry about).

Alright so i decided to go through the whole playable game thus far and just tweak everything to make it as streamlined as possible so you can't see the seams xD. Anything from animations, to places that need to be blocked off, to mispellings.

Thankyou everyone who played today and got on, it was nice to see that players count say more than 1 for a change xD.

Also, don't get discouraged about the players number, it WILL go up, just keep Pirata in your thoughts and keep spreading it around like a STD! Only Pirata's more fun than STD's... Then again what isn't more fun than...

I decided a while back that i would make this game public early, which of course will mean lots of bugs found. Please, do your best to post them on THESE forums so i can get to them whenever i need to.

Tomorrow or the next day will have a brand new client with all the fixes and an AUTO UPDATER, yes!

This means you'll have to uninstall the current one when the new one comes out, but it will be worth it in my opinion for what your getting.

Atleast you guys have something to mess around in while i bust my ass...

Today i spent most of the time trying to get the engine to work correctly.
Came across like 3 different bugs with the engine that Vampyr needs to fix.

Today I:

Found bugs
Reported the engine bugs
Created the shore scene for the story after the storm scene
Created town characters.
Added enemies to The Shore and City outskirts.

Today i made some great progress!
